Peer Review Process

Journal of English Education and Technology (JEET) implements a rigorous and transparent evaluation process to ensure the highest quality of published scholarship. All submitted manuscripts undergo a structured review process as follows:

1. Initial Desk Evaluation (Screening)

Upon submission, every manuscript is first screened by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated Section Editor. The purpose of this stage is to assess:

  • Conformity with the journal’s Aims and Scope.
  • Compliance with the Author Guidelines and formatting requirements.
  • Initial quality and potential contribution to the field.
  • Originality check via Turnitin (maximum similarity index of 20%). Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be rejected immediately (Desk Reject) without further review.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

JEET employs a Double-Blind Peer Review model. This ensures that the identity of the authors is concealed from the reviewers, and the identity of the reviewers is concealed from the authors throughout the entire process.

  • Manuscripts passing the initial screening are sent to at least two (2) independent external reviewers who are experts in the specific subject area.
  • Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, geographical diversity, and lack of conflict of interest.

3. Reviewer Recommendations

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigor, clarity of results, and significance to the international ELT and technology community. Possible recommendations include:

  • Accept Submission: Accepted without further changes.
  • Revisions Required: Minor revisions are required.
  • Resubmit for Review: Major revisions and a second round of review are required.
  • Decline Submission: The manuscript is not suitable for publication.

4. Final Decision

The Editorial Board makes the final decision based on the reviewers' reports. In cases of conflicting recommendations (e.g., one reviewer accepts and another rejects), a third reviewer may be consulted, or the Editor-in-Chief will make the final adjudication. The decision of the Editorial Board is final.

5. Average Processing Time

To maintain publishing regularity and efficiency:

  • Time to first decision (Desk Evaluation): 1–2 weeks.
  • Time for review process: 4–8 weeks.
  • Time from acceptance to publication: 4–12 weeks.
